The AAGL Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology™ (COEMIG™) “Commitment Level” certification is awarded by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists – the premier standards-setting organization for the surgical specialty – to entities meeting its established, stringent criteria for surgical and facility excellence in minimally invasive gynecologic care. Achievement of the award involves rigorous clinical documentation and evaluation of these criteria, which address short- and long-term patient outcomes, surgical volume and type, safety measures and protocol, experience and training of staff surgeons, surgical equipment and technology, ongoing staff education, and other performance factors. The Georgia Advanced Surgery Center for Women is among only a few facilities in the entire country with the prestigious designation.
