The Georgia Advanced Surgery Center is dedicated to providing women with the very latest, safest and most-effective gynecological treatment and care available, and ensuring that our patients have the best surgical experience and outcomes possible.
Since its inception, the Georgia Advanced Surgery Center for Women has continuously maintained Joint Commission accreditation which is recognized nationwide as a healthcare organization's commitment to meeting the highest surgical quality and safety standards.
Our expert, Board Certified surgeons use laparoscopic and other advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques to diagnose and treat numerous gynecological, pelvic, and abdominal conditions, including abnormal bleeding, endometriosis, fibroids, infertility, ovarian cysts, overactive bladders, painful and/or heavy menstruation, painful intercourse, pelvic adhesions, pelvic organ prolapse, polyps, and urinary incontinence. We also perform microsurgical tubal reversal.
Our laparoscopic and other surgical techniques enable all major and minor procedures for treating these conditions to be safely performed as true outpatient procedures - eliminating the need for hospital stays and unsightly incisions, while also providing the fastest, least painful recovery possible. Our hysterectomy patients safely return home the same day of surgery, with an unparalleled record of no undetected major complications in over 2,000 cases since 2006.
Since our 2010 opening, the GASC has successfully performed thousands of minimally invasive, outpatient procedures - all with same-day patient discharge and industry leading low incidences of transfusion, post-operative infection, wound complication or readmission. Our success rate of 99.8% is outstanding by any clinical-outcome criteria for outpatient surgery. Surgical adverse event rates for average Gyn surgeons nationwide are 1-2%. To put this perspective, our rate is 500-1000% lower than the national average. All surgical outcomes data are diligently tracked with complete follow up on all patients, which is our commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Most importantly, the outstanding outcomes of our minimally invasive laparoscopic and vaginal techniques are proven by major medical studies and research to not only be far superior to traditional open surgery, but also to robotics surgery and single-port access laparoscopic surgery. Among the procedures performed at the GASC are:
- Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), total vaginal hysterectomy (TVH) and laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH)
